Description
This incredible 21km hike, filled with the scents of the countryside and the breezes of the nearby sea, will make you discover the Barrocal which is characterized by the presence of several limestone elevations of irregular shapes.
Our loop will start in the small village of Moncarapacho and will allow to reach, by more or less technical paths, one of the highest peaks of this region, the "Cerro São Miguel" (411m). On a clear day you can see from Monte Gordo to Faro, the coastal towns, some islands of the Ria Formasa and the immense blue sea.
After the lunch break in the form of a picnic, we will continue along the Barrocal to enjoy an endemic vegetation : olive trees, myrtle trees, carob trees, almond trees, fig trees or some isolated specimens of holm oaks…
Another point of interest is the "Cerro da Cabeça" with its viewpoint nestled in the upper Jurassic rock that allows vegetation to grow in the cracks carved by rain over the centuries. We will go down quietly to our starting point, our steps punctuated by the paths of red ochre earth and accompanied by the song of the birds.

Nous avions prévus 2 randonnées avec NB Evasion sans savoir ce qui allait nous arriver !!! Et au final c’était juste topissime , magnifique , des vue à couper le souffle avec un guide qui sait de quoi il parle vue dont expériences avec la nature de la région de algarve
Alors si j’ai quelques chose à vous conseiller pour des randonnées n’hésitez surtout pas as les contacter les yeux fermés nous ne serez pas déçu sur aucune d’elle
Ps : merci à Sandra pour ces petits en-cas qui était trop bon , surtout la citronnade maison délicieuse
